100 years of Czechoslovakia
On the morning of May 24th, at the Associazione Civita di Roma, the historical conference “100 years from the birth of Czechoslovakia. Czechs and Slovaks in a changing Europe”, will be held, which has been organized by the embassies of the Czech Republic and Slovakia in Italy, for the centenary of the birth of Czechoslovakia and the delivery of the flag of the Czechoslovak Legion. Historians from the two countries will speak, including Ivan Šedivý, director of the Czech History Institute at Charles University in Prague; Slavomír Michálek, director of the historical institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences; journalist Sergio Tazzer, historian and president of the CEDOS. Andrea Tarquini of La Repubblica newspaper will be the Moderator. An exhibition set up by the Czech Centers also mapping the personalities and key events of the birth of the state in 1918.
