From 3 July to 8 September
At the Klementinum Gallery in Prague, the Alamode exhibition is underway, which presents fashion trends in European Royal courts between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In the Baroque and Rococo era clothing, down to the smallest detail, was in fact a means to show off its social elite. To reveal the refined elegance of the time seven dresses, intended for masked balls and social evenings, have been recreated following the methods of the time. Among the men’s suits there are copies of the clothes worn by King Louis XIV and Emperor Leopold I. There is no shortage of accessories, including masks, jewels and corsets. To accompany the visitors, it is possible to bump into the curator, Rostislav Maria Müller, who tells anecdotes about the social life of the eighteenth century and their connection with current events.
