This slipcase, by Safarà publishing, is dedicated to three Central European writers: Pavol Rankov, Tomáš Zmeškal and Jan Němec. It comprises three novels very different from each other, but interconnecting through the refinement of a radically European writing and the city of Prague standing out in the stories like an irresistible attraction, almost like a destiny, in the lives of the characters that animate events dominated by love, history and the complex relationships between people. The works are “Love Letter in Cuneiform”, by Zmeškal, “A History of Light”, a novel by Jan Němec about the photographer František Drtikol and “It happened on September the First (or whenever)”, by Rankov. With their settings, these novels allow us to take an ideal tour of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Prague, among the beauties of the historic center and the outskirts, between the 1800s and 1900s, two centuries of great political and cultural fervor.
