Colours of Ostrava

Among the industrial ruins of the steel mills and former mines of Dolní Vítkovice, this year we again see the return of the Colors of Ostrava, one of the ten best European festivals as reflected by the European Festival Awards assigned to it in autumn 2017. It is a truly multi-genre event: jazz, pop, rock and world music, but also electric, alternative and African, folk and indie music. These are all the genres offered by over 150 groups that perform over the four days of the event. Among the stars of this 17th edition are American producer and musician Pharrell Williams who launches one successful hit after another and Ziggy Marley, the eldest son of Bob Marley and winner of eight Grammys. The Kafka Band offers a musical adaptation of Kafka’s novel Amerika.
