Press Conference
After talks between the two Heads of State and a general meeting with all the delegations,
the moment came for the press conference. Napolitano and Klaus – following their exchange of views, defined by both as “lively and informal ” – even when in front of journalists, do not miss the opportunity to highlight their diverging opinions on the European Union. Nevertheless, the two presidents totally agree on one thing: bilateral relations between Italy and the Czech Republic are excellent, both economically as well as culturally. Napolitano is delighted to see so many Italian tourists in Prague.

Embassy
The visit of President Napolitano to the Italian Embassy, where he met the members of the diplomatic staff and representatives of the Italian community living in the Czech Republic. On this occasion, the Italian President underlined the beauty of Prague and recalled his first visit to the city in 1947, during the World Festival of Youth and Students..

Vitkov
President Napolitano on his way to the Vitkov memorial, where he laid a wreath. The monument built in 1929-1938, is in memory of the Czechoslovakian legionaries who fought side by side with the powers of the Entente, during the First World War, for the conquest of national independence.
