The Italian Institute of Prague hosted last January the evening presentation of “Homage to Prague”, a selection of poems published on the initiative of the Prague Committee of the Società Dante Alighieri.
The author of these verses is Andrea Luise who exactly in the magic city – where he lived and worked ten years – discovered to have a real gift for poetry, which brought him to the publication of his first work.
It is a selection of poems dedicated to Prague written to satisfy his need – as he explained during his presentation – to convey his continuous being on the same wavelength with this town, although his Prague assignment in the field of civil aviation is now over and he has consequently come back to Italy.
During this evening presentation – which was held in one of the hall of the institute crowded with people and in the presence of the Italian ambassador Mr. Fabio Pigliapoco – the reading of some poems was accompanied by the music composed by Francesco Giacon, a colleague of Luise and director of the Dante Prague Committee.
Here we present some of the verses that we judge to be more significant. The landscape approach of these poems has suggested us to match them with a couple of suggestive views of Prague.
