Science and Mysticism, where the crossroads lie
The Baroque Chapel of the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague will host mid-June the international conference “Science and Mysticism, where the crossroads lie”. How does science interpret the phenomenon of mystical ecstasy that many religions refer to? Why can some natural or laboratory produced substances elevate the state of consciousness and expand sensory abilities? Why do shaman rituals and ritual practices manage to induce trance? Above all, what does science think above “mystical” phenomena? Fourteen international speakers and researchers, including some Italians, will debate on the topic. The event is organized by the Accademia dei Filaleti, the New York University of Prague and the Café Boheme magazine, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute.
