From 19 to 25 October

Thanks to the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, the XX Week of the Italian Language in the World will be held from the 19th to the 25th of October, which this year will have as its theme: “Italian between word and image: graffiti, illustrations, comic books”. Among the various events, on the 22nd of October, the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague will make use of the Zoom platform to set up a presentation of the Czech translation of “The Ballad of the Salty Sea” (Balada o slaném moři) by Hugo Pratt, a volume that in 1967 marked the start of the epic series of the sailor-hero Corto Maltese. The meeting will be held by the professor and translator of the volume Alice Flemrová, who will lead a discussion with Richard Kličník, photographer, editor, publicist, translator, and comic expert.
