The Czech Liberty in Miramare

The Miramare Castle in Trieste hosts an exhibition that brings for the first time in Italy one part of the collection dedicated to the Czech and European Liberty belonging to the Museum of Decorative Arts (UPM) in Prague. The accurate selection of about 200 works comprises glass and ceramics, paintings and photographs, furniture, textiles and jewelry. It highlights the art nouveau that revolutionized this domain between the nineteenth and twentieth century. In addition to Gustav Klimt, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec or Otto Wagner, the exhibit will display twelve works of Alphonse Mucha, including a watercolor of over seven on three meters created for the pavilion of Bosnia-Herzegovina at the Paris Expo in 1900. Showcased at the Stables and the Historical Museum of the Miramare Castle, the exhibition is promoted by the latter together with the FVG and UPM museums.
