20plastic-peopleThe Plastic People of the Universe, the legendary Czechoslovakian underground band, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a concert at the Žižkov Atrium in Prague, on August the 21st. Two hours of performance in which the classic tracks, and other completely new pieces will be offered, but also old songs not played for years in newly arranged versions. Among the guests of the evening, former members and longtime friends of the group. Plastic People held their first concert in February 1969 but already from the following year, only performed in private events in the underground community. In 1976 all the members were arrested as dissidents. They are the most famous Czech rock band abroad with songs like Egon Bondy’s Happy Hearts Club Banned, Passion Play, Leading Horses and Midnight Mouse.
