“Praha 1848-1918” is the title of an exhibition, inaugurated at the Muzeum hlavního města Prahy, and dedicated to the capital city in the seventy years separating two key events in its history: the “Pentecost Uprising” of 1848 and the proclamation of the Czechoslovakian state of 1918. A collection of rebel weapons and flyers portraying the events of that era of agitation evoke the 1848 revolts. In the second half of the nineteenth century, Prague underwent considerable modernization, the suburban neighborhoods surrounding it were born, as were the road structure and public buildings that transformed it into a modern metropolis. The exhibition, which required two years of preparation and is enriched by modern audiovisual media, will last until February 2019.
