May 17
Santa Cecilia – Pražské jaro

As part of the Prague Spring classical music festival, the Orchestra of the Santa Cecilia National Academy will perform at Smetana Hall of the Municipal House of Prague on May 17. The program will include Night on Bold Mountain of Musorgskij, Scheherazade of Rimskij-Korsakov and the Concert for violin and orchestra n.1 by Bartók, featuring the violinist Lisa Batiashvili. Having taken part of the Prague festival in 2015, the Orchestra is based in Rome and was the first one in Italy to devote itself solely to the symphonic repertoire. The international success and numerous awards are due also to the maestro Antonio Pappano, managing the Orchestra since 2005. The concert will take place in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Prague and the Italian Institute of Culture.
