From June 17 to October 30
Havel – Prigov

The Museum of Czech Literature, the Václav Havel Library and the Dmitri Prigov Foundation, celebrate what would have been the eightieth birthday of former Czech President Václav Havel, with the exhibition “Havel-Prigov and Czech experimental poetry”. Havel devoted himself to experimental poetry in a cycle of Anticodes. The exhibition offers a comparison with the Stichogrammy and the extensive work of the contemporary Russian Dmitry Prigov, who used similar techniques. The works of Havel and Prigov are then compared with previously unknown artists, whose works – on the boundary between word and image – were published only clandestinely. Hosted at the Hvězda summer residence, the exhibition is sponsored by the Minister of Culture, Daniel Herman, and by the Dagmar and Václav Havel Vize 97 Foundation.
