The golden age of film posters

Taking place in the foyer of the Světozor cinema in Prague is the 22nd edition of the exhibition cycle “The Golden era of Czechoslovak film poster”. On display are about sixty movie posters of the 1960s, created for the distribution of Czech and international films by artists, such as Jiří Balcar, Richard Fremund and Zdeněk Palcr, three prominent representatives of the Czechoslovak poster art school. Balcar and Fremund died prematurely at the end of the 1960s, while Zdeněk Palcr remained one of the few sculptors who also dedicated himself to the creation of posters. His are the playbills for the Miloš Forman film “The Loves of a blonde” and for the Oscar-winning film “The Shop on Main Street”. Both of them will be presented at the exhibition, together with the posters of the famous film by Federico Fellini “The Road”.
