Prague Christmas markets
Named the best Christmas destination in the world for 2015 by a survey of American newspaper Today, the Prague Christmas markets reopen on November 26 with the majestic lighting of the tree in Old Town Square. At the feet of the spruce, special guests and choirs sing Christmas carols, living animals evoke the atmosphere of the nativity scene while dozens of stalls offer visitors artifacts and decorations, good food and inviting sweets. While walking between one stall and another, guests can warm themselves up with the classic mulled wine, served in a special cup that they can take home as a souvenir. Among the most anticipated initiatives is the arrival of St. Nicholas with gifts and surprises for children, and the distribution of the traditional fish soup on Christmas Eve.
