Praga è bella

The Gallery of Czech Centre in Milan is hosting “Praga è bella”, an exhibition by students from the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). The exhibition, which was set up to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the department of photography and inaugurated on 12 May, displays beautiful scenes of Prague through a series of photographs taken by Czech and international students – snapshots that represent the reality of the place and depict the charm and atmosphere of the peculiar streets and corners of the town, but that also highlight the strong ties that have existed between the Czech Republic and Italy. A few photographs, in fact, highlight the strong influence that Italian architecture had on that of Prague, especially the baroque style of Francesco Borromini and Guarino Guarini. The exhibition is curated by Robert Silverio, a professor of photography at FAMU.
